The budget allocation for the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President in Nigeria has skyrocketed to an unprecedented ₦21.22 billion for the fiscal year 2024.
This remarkable surge marks a significant departure from the comparatively modest allocations of previous years, according to findings from Statisense, a prominent data analysis firm.
Records from Statisense indicate that the budget for the Chief of Staff’s office was a mere ₦24.35 million in 2020, gradually increasing to ₦76.55 million in 2021.
However, the trajectory changed dramatically in 2022, with the allocation soaring to ₦526.47 million, and maintaining a substantial figure of ₦517.95 million in 2023, before experiencing an exponential surge to over ₦21 billion in 2024.
