British-Nigerian Cosmetic Doctor Faces Court Over Allegations of Inappropriate Relationship with Vulnerable Patient

Renowned UK-based Nigerian cosmetic doctor, Dr Tijion Esho, is under scrutiny as he stands accused of engaging in an improper emotional relationship with a “vulnerable” patient, a sex worker, leading to alleged sexual intercourse at one of his clinics.

According to reports from the Daily Mail, a medical tribunal in Manchester is currently examining the allegations against Dr Esho. The doctor, known for his appearances on ITV’s This Morning, BBC’s Morning Live, and E4’s Body Fixers, is accused of exchanging explicit messages with the patient and offering botox in return for sexual favors.

Botox, typically used for medical purposes, has applications in treating facial wrinkles and enhancing appearance.

Dr Esho came into the public eye in October 2022 when a medical watchdog initiated an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct. Subsequently, he was restricted from practice during the inquiry conducted by the General Medical Council (GMC).

Under interim conditions, Dr Esho was warned against conducting consultations with female patients without a chaperone and having contact with patients outside clinical settings.

The tribunal heard that the patient, who provided sex services through platforms like OnlyFans and webcams, visited Dr Esho after learning about a lip procedure offered at his clinics. Chloe Hudson, representing the GMC, asserted that after an appointment in July 2019, the patient began following the doctor on Instagram, with Dr Esho allegedly responding with “strong and sexual content.”

It was revealed in the tribunal that Dr Esho arranged an appointment at his Newcastle clinic to avoid interruptions for an alleged sexual encounter. In exchange, he promised botox treatments to the patient.

The patient filed a complaint with the GMC, alleging that Dr Esho had taken advantage of her vulnerable position. While the doctor denies some allegations, he admits inappropriate behavior by exchanging messages with the patient between July 2019 and February 2022, acknowledging an improper emotional relationship with a sexual motivation.

The ongoing tribunal is expected to span 15 days as it delves into the details of the accusations against Dr Tijion Esho.
