Bobrisky Pleads Guilty to Naira Abuse Charge

Controversial figure Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has pleaded guilty to charges of naira abuse in court today.

The charges, brought forward by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), included six counts of money laundering and abuse of the Nigerian currency. However, before the proceedings, the EFCC’s prosecution counsel, Suleiman Suleiman, requested the court to remove counts five and six related to money laundering, focusing solely on counts one to four.

Bobrisky’s admission of guilt came during his arraignment at the Federal High Court in Lagos this morning. When questioned if he understood the charges against him, he affirmed, “Yes, I am guilty.”

The controversial figure had been in EFCC detention since Wednesday night, after failing to meet the administrative bail offered to him on Thursday.

This development follows a series of events surrounding Bobrisky’s legal entanglements, as the EFCC filed charges against him on Thursday, alleging money laundering and abuse of the Nigerian currency.
