Benue PDP Suspends State Chairman, Secretary, Organizing Secretary for Forgery, Impersonation
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has suspended three key members of its State Working Committee for a month, effective immediately. The officials affected are State Chairman John Ngbede, State Secretary Joseph Nyam, and State Organizing Secretary Moses Audu.
The suspension was announced following an extraordinary meeting of the State Working Committee held on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Out of the 13 committee members, nine were present and unanimously agreed on the suspension.
State Publicity Secretary Bemgba Iortyom revealed that the officials were accused of forgery and impersonation of the State Working Committee, inciting violence and crisis during the recent ward congresses, and mismanagement of party finances, among other allegations.
The suspended officials have been ordered to appear before the party’s Disciplinary Committee within their suspension period to address the charges against them.
In the interim, State Deputy Chairman Isaac Mffo will assume the role of State Chairman.
The PDP has urged its members and the general public to take note of these changes.
