“Beg Nigerian Government or Die in Jail” – Primate Ayodele Warns Nnamdi Kanu
In a recent address, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has strongly advised Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to plead with the Nigerian government for his release. Primate Ayodele issued this warning during the launch of his 30th “Warning to the Nations” event held at his church in Lagos on Saturday.
Kanu, who is currently in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) on orders from the Nigerian government, has been in detention since June 2021 following his re-arrest in Kenya and subsequent repatriation to Nigeria. Despite court rulings granting him bail, the government has yet to release him.
This development comes as Southeast governors and senators plan to meet with President Bola Tinubu to discuss a political resolution to Kanu’s prolonged detention.
During his speech, Primate Ayodele emphasized the necessity for Kanu to request clemency from the authorities to avoid dying in prison. He asserted that Kanu should step back from his leadership role in the Biafran agitation, as he lacks the capacity to lead such a movement effectively.
Furthermore, Primate Ayodele predicted that Nigeria will eventually break up, not due to the actions of Kanu or Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Igboho, but as a natural outcome. He assured that this separation would occur without violence, starting from the northern region of the country.
“Nigeria will break, but not through Nnamdi Kanu or Sunday Igboho. Kanu should beg the government for his release, or he will die in jail,” Ayodele stated. “The country’s breakup will happen naturally, without bloodshed, and it will commence from the North.”
Primate Ayodele concluded by noting that no amount of prayer or fasting could prevent this inevitable division, as the spirit of the nation’s existence is “tired,” and the forefathers’ spirits, such as that of Tafawa Balewa, are dissatisfied with the current state of affairs.
