Bayero University Student Kidnapped in Abuja Killed by Terrorists as Ransom Demands Go Unmet
Talatu Salihu, a final-year student of Library and Information Science at Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has been mercilessly killed by terrorists who abducted her alongside her siblings at their residence in Abuja. SK Blog has learned that Talatu’s life was tragically cut short as her family struggled to meet the exorbitant ransom demanded by the kidnappers.
Talatu’s demise was confirmed on Wednesday by close friends at BUK, who revealed the harrowing details of her abduction. According to sources, the kidnappers demanded over N100 million for the release of Talatu and her siblings, a sum beyond the means of their parents. Tragically, the inability to pay the ransom led to Talatu’s untimely death.
One of Talatu’s friends shared the heart-wrenching information, stating, “They killed her because her family was not able to meet up with the payment of the ransom.” The source also disclosed that the terrorists are still holding Talatu’s brothers, issuing threats to end their lives unless the demanded ransom is paid promptly.
