JUST IN: Kidnappers Release Seven More Abuja Residents
Seven residents kidnapped from Sagwari Estate in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have been successfully released,.
The initial abduction took place when gunmen targeted the estate, located opposite Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS) Dutse, around 8 pm last Sunday, resulting in the abduction of 10 residents.
Tragically, the captors set a ransom deadline, and the failure to meet their demands led to the brutal killing of Nabeeha. Among the victims murdered were Talatu Salihu, a 500-level student of Library and Information Science at Bayero University Kano (BUK), a hotel staff member, Akpagher Joseph Terzungwe, and 13-year-old Mitchell Ariyo.
Following these tragic events, the remaining seven hostages, including a female hotel receptionist, a mother with her three children, and two young children, have now been released to their respective families, according to sources within the facility. The families, however, were reportedly relocated to an undisclosed location for safety.
This positive development follows the release of the four remaining siblings of the late Nabeeha Al-Kadriyah, who had been abducted alongside their father earlier this month. After Nabeeha’s tragic death, the bandits increased the ransom from N60 million to N100 million, with a threat to harm the remaining sisters. As of the latest report at 12:30 am on Sunday, the girls have regained their freedom and safely returned to their Abuja residence, where the initial abduction occurred.
