Bauchi Council Election Results: AAC Candidate Defeats PDP Rival
The Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC) has announced Yunusa Muhammad of the African Action Congress (AAC) as the winner of the councilorship election in Papa Ward.
The results were declared on Saturday at the collation center in Darazo. Returning Officer Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar confirmed that Muhammad garnered 1,156 votes, defeating the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Ashiru Mohammad Papa, who received 1,053 votes.
Idris Mohammad of the All Progressives Congress (APC) finished in third place with 290 votes.
Abubakar stated, “I, Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar, hereby certify that I am the Returning Officer for the Papa Ward councilorship election held on August 17, 2024. Yunusa Muhammad of AAC has met the legal requirements and is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.”
