Baker Found Dead with Throat Slit, Heart Missing in Lagos Apartment

Tina Ileogben, a baker residing on Olowo Street in the Alhaja Shifiwa area of Dopemu, Agege, Lagos State, was found brutally murdered in her own home. The victim’s throat had been slit, and her heart was reportedly ripped out of her chest and taken from the scene.

According to reports, Ileogben failed to show up for work on Wednesday, prompting concern from her colleagues. One of them was dispatched to check on her at home, only to discover the grisly scene upon entry. The colleague found Ileogben’s lifeless body on her bed, with her throat slit and her heart missing.

Witnesses at the scene described a scene of horror and confusion, with one resident named Segun recounting the discovery of the victim’s mutilated body. “The incident has thrown people including her neighbours into confusion,” he said. “People got to know what happened to Ileogben when her colleague came to her flat.”

Ileogben’s elder sister, Justina, added to the harrowing details, alleging that her sister had been raped before her murder. “When I looked closer at her corpse, I saw that the person raped her before killing her. The person used a knife to slit her throat and her heart was also removed from her chest,” she said.

Demanding justice for her sister, Justina urged the authorities to swiftly track down the perpetrator responsible for the heinous crime.

Confirming the incident, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that the case had been reported, and investigations were underway. He noted that the deceased’s remains had been evacuated for post-mortem examination.

While the investigation continues, the community remains in shock over the brutal murder of Tina Ileogben, as residents grapple with the senseless violence that has rocked their neighborhood.
