Atiku’s Leadership Prevents Implosion of PDP at NEC Meeting, Says Former Representative

Former Representative Dagogo Farah from Rivers State has praised the political acumen of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other party leaders for their role in preventing the implosion of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during its 98th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Thursday.

Dagogo commended Atiku for his leadership and resilience, which helped the PDP navigate potential crises during the meeting. He highlighted the importance of maintaining stability within the party and noted that there were rumors and speculations about potential turmoil as the party aimed to elect a new National Chairman from the North Central Zone to complete the tenure of former Chairman Dr. Iyorchia Ayu.

Umar Damagum retained his position as the party’s Acting National Chairman until the next NEC meeting scheduled for August. Dagogo believes that this decision was a “win-win situation” and expressed hope that Damagum would step down by August for more focused and result-oriented leadership.

Dagogo emphasized the significance of political maturity and sacrifice from party leaders, including Atiku, in averting a potential internal crisis that could have benefited some individuals seeking to advance their political careers. He stated that the party’s avoidance of implosion was crucial for its continued strength and stability.
