The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the winner of the June 20, 2026, Ekiti State governorship election.
Announcing the result on Sunday, the State Returning Officer, Professor Adenike Oladiji, said Oyebanji secured the highest number of valid votes and met the constitutional requirements to be returned elected.
According to the final results, Oyebanji polled 319,224 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Wole Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 40,543 votes. Dare Bejide of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) came third with 12,872 votes.
The election recorded 384,940 accredited voters, while 382,109 votes were cast. INEC said 375,777 of the votes were valid.
With the victory, Oyebanji becomes the first sitting governor in Ekiti State to win re-election.
