Three officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were killed in an attack by gunmen in Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

According to security sources cited by counterinsurgency publication Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred around 12:55 p.m. on June 4 while the officers were carrying out official duties along a route in the area.

The attackers reportedly ambushed the FRSC team. The officers attempted to escape after spotting the gunmen, but the assailants pursued them on motorcycles and opened fire.

The three officials died at the scene.

The victims were identified as Umar Aliyu, a Deputy Chief Road Marshal Assistant (DCRMA); Ezra Manu Gona, a Senior Road Marshal Assistant (SRMA); and Mansur Ibrahim Nasir, a Road Marshal Assistant I (RMA I).

The attack has raised security concerns in the area. According to the report, security personnel have been advised to remain vigilant while authorities assess the situation.

Efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack and determine the full circumstances surrounding the ambush.

Security agencies have also increased surveillance and other precautionary measures in the affected area as part of efforts to prevent further incidents and maintain safety along the route.
