The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has insisted that all candidates nominated on its platform will contest the 2027 general election despite a Federal High Court ruling that nullified the party's registration.

A Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja on Friday set aside its earlier judgment that directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the NDC as a political party.

Delivering judgment in suit FHC/LKJ/CS/49/2025, Justice Isah Dashen held that the court's December 10, 2025, ruling was reached without hearing all necessary parties, making the proceedings constitutionally defective.

Reacting to the development during an appearance on *Politics Today*, a Channels Television programme, the NDC's National Secretary, Ikenna Enekweizu, said the party remained confident that its candidates would participate in the elections.

"We were scheduled to pick up our code to start uploading the names of our candidates today, but the ruling came up. I think it was designed and timed to stop us from picking up those codes. But I can assure you that we will pick them up," he said.

Enekweizu maintained that the ruling would not stop the party from completing the nomination process.

"We will upload the names of our candidates, and we will participate in the elections," he said. "Our supporters, members and candidates have nothing to fear. All our candidates will be on the ballot in 2027."

The party also announced that it would challenge the judgment at the Court of Appeal.

NDC National Chairman Moses Cleopas said all nominations made on the party's platform remain valid pending the outcome of the appeal.
