APC Reclaims Adamawa Assembly Seat After Tight Race

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reclaimed the Ganye constituency seat in the Adamawa State House of Assembly following Saturday’s bye-election. The seat became vacant after the death of APC lawmaker Abdulmalik Musa last year.

In the tightly contested race, APC candidate Misa Musa Jauro polled 16,923 votes, narrowly defeating Buba Muhammad Joda of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 16,794 votes. The outcome confirmed expectations of a close contest between the two leading parties.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Jauro winner of the election in the early hours of Sunday. The Returning Officer, Professor Tukur Ahmed, announced the results just before 5 a.m., officially bringing the electoral process to a close.
