Anambra State Unveils Ambitious Plan to Replicate Nnaji’s Power Plant Project

In a bid to tackle the persistent power challenges in Anambra State, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has announced plans to duplicate the success of the Geometric Power Project pioneered by Professor Barth Nnaji.

Governor Soludo revealed this during a presentation of his two-year stewardship in Awka on Sunday. He emphasized the urgency of addressing the state’s electricity deficit and pledged to expedite the replication process, aiming to achieve in a shorter timeframe what took Geometric Power two decades to accomplish.

Commending Prof. Barth Nnaji for his groundbreaking innovation, Governor Soludo disclosed that his administration had meticulously studied the power plant’s operations and assembled a dedicated team to devise the Anambra version. Despite facing significant revenue constraints, with state allocations slashed by over 25% and grappling with heavy inflation, Soludo reaffirmed his government’s commitment to optimizing resources for the benefit of the people.

Acknowledging the prevailing economic challenges, Soludo underscored his administration’s austere approach, revealing that he forgoes a salary from the state treasury, and his wife lacks an official vehicle. Despite these constraints, the governor affirmed his dedication to uplifting the less privileged through initiatives such as free public education and delivery services.

Looking ahead, Governor Soludo outlined his administration’s priorities, including bolstering security, fostering technological innovation, advancing the digital economy, and enhancing human capital development.

The ambitious endeavor marks a significant step forward in Anambra State’s quest for sustainable energy solutions, promising to alleviate the longstanding power woes and propel the state towards socioeconomic advancement.
