In a stern response to recent deceptive messages circulating on social media platforms, the Anambra State Government has unequivocally disassociated itself from a fraudulent message claiming to offer a substantial financial subsidy from the Federal Government.
The spurious message, titled “WELCOME TO FG 5BN NAIRA ANAMBRA STATE SUBSIDY PALLIATIVE,” falsely represents itself as being issued by the Anambra State Ministry of Finance. It deceitfully promises financial assistance to the people of Anambra State under the guise of a subsidy palliative.
The Anambra State Government, led by Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has moved swiftly to denounce this malicious scam. In an official statement, the government categorically declared that the message has no connection whatsoever with the state government or any of its agencies. It further condemned this criminal act, emphasizing that it seeks to exploit the hopes and needs of citizens during challenging times.
Citizens of Anambra State are strongly cautioned against opening the link provided in the fraudulent message or sharing any personal information as requested, as it is a scheme designed to steal sensitive data and compromise individual security.
To maintain transparency and credibility, the government asserted that any genuine palliative program initiated by the Federal Government for the people of Anambra State, in addition to the one recently announced by Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, will be officially communicated through verified channels and trusted news outlets.
Christian Aburime, the Press Secretary to the Governor of Anambra State, affirms the government’s commitment to the welfare of its citizens during these challenging times. He urged all residents to remain vigilant, disregard such suspicious messages, and promptly report any related activities to the appropriate authorities.
The Anambra State Government, in its dedication to safeguarding the interests of Ndi Anambra, has made it clear that fraudulent schemes like this will not be tolerated.
