Anambra Speaker Commends Education Minister for Acknowledging Soludo’s Achievements in the Education Sector

The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, expressed his admiration for the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, for his recognition of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s remarkable contributions to the education sector in the state.

During a press conference held in his office on Thursday, Speaker Udeze lauded Minister Mamman as a distinguished educationist with a wealth of experience capable of elevating the standard of education in Nigeria. He emphasized that the Minister’s appreciative remarks serve as a source of motivation for both Governor Soludo and the entire populace of Anambra.

Speaker Udeze highlighted some of Governor Soludo’s significant strides in education, including the employment of five thousand teachers, an ongoing recruitment drive for an additional three thousand teachers, the introduction of free education in public schools from nursery to junior secondary three, teacher training and retraining, school rehabilitation projects, and sponsorship of various school competitions, among other initiatives.

Furthermore, Udeze reminded the Education Minister that under Governor Soludo’s leadership, Anambra State teachers and students have consistently excelled in both national and international competitions. He attributed this success to Governor Soludo’s unwavering commitment to advancing the state’s education sector.

The Speaker also urged the Education Minister to collaborate with Governor Soludo in his pragmatic efforts to elevate education throughout the country. He called for increased federal government investment in education, with a particular emphasis on Anambra State.

On behalf of the State House of Assembly, Speaker Udeze extended commendations to Governor Soludo for bringing pride to the people of Anambra and setting the state apart from its peers through the implementation of sustainable education policies and programs.
