Anambra Police Thwart Attack by Armed Hoodlums in Uli, Intensify Security Measures

In a swift response to reports of armed criminal activity, operatives of the Anambra State Police Command successfully repelled and dispersed armed hoodlums who opened fire in the vicinity of Uli community, near the Uli Campus of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University. The assailants, who fired indiscriminately, caused panic among residents before being confronted by law enforcement.

Eyewitnesses recount the harrowing moments as the gunmen unleashed a barrage of gunfire without provocation, instilling fear among the populace. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, and tranquility has been restored to the area.

In light of the incident, additional police personnel, operational assets, and intelligence capabilities have been deployed to bolster security in the university and its surroundings. Acting Commissioner of Police, DCP Fidelis Ogarabe, underscores the command’s unyielding commitment to maintaining law and order, as well as safeguarding the well-being of residents.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Finance and Administration, has instructed operatives to apprehend the perpetrators swiftly. The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities promptly. Assistance can be sought through the Command Control Room or the Police Public Relations Officer.

For further inquiries or emergencies, individuals can utilize the ‘NPF Rescue Me App’ available on both Android and Apple iOS platforms.
