Anambra Police Commissioner Vows to Safeguard Tricycle Operators Against Extortion, Crime

The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye, has pledged his commitment to safeguarding commercial tricycle operators from the clutches of extortionists, touts, and other criminal elements.

During a courtesy visit by the Anambra State Keke Drivers’ Forum (AKDF), led by Comrade Osita Obi, Commissioner Adeoye assured the tricycle operators that his law enforcement team would take decisive measures to shield them from nefarious activities.

Highlighting the broader scope of the police mission, Adeoye emphasized the commitment to ensuring the safety of citizens’ lives and property within the state. He credited the existing calmness in the region to proactive police measures targeting issues like cultism and various crimes.

Addressing the AKDF members, the commissioner called for their collaboration, urging them to provide valuable information crucial for combating crime. He stated, “If you support the police, it is good for all of us. The police will support you to do your work. Help the police to identify criminals in the state.”

Acknowledging the unity among tricycle drivers, Adeoye commended their collective purpose and encouraged them to address grievances through recognized members of the Forum for swift attention.

Comrade Osita Obi, in his remarks during the visit, expressed solidarity with the commissioner, applauding Adeoye for the professionalism exhibited by the police force and their successful efforts in curbing cult-related incidents, kidnappings, and other criminal activities.
