Air Force Student Punished to Death by Seniors

In a shocking incident at the Air Force Comprehensive School in Kaduna, Blaise Felix Aliyu, a student at the institution, has died after being subjected to fatal punishment by two senior students.

Aliyu, an orphan who lost his parents in 2013, is survived by his twin brother, also enrolled at the military boarding school in Mando, Kaduna. The 15-year-old was reportedly summoned by two SS3 students to their room under the guise of disciplining him but ended up losing his life as a result of their actions.

The tragic event has left the school community in mourning, and Aliyu’s body has been deposited in the mortuary.

In response to the incident, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, spokesperson for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), conveyed the institution’s deep sorrow. In a statement released on Saturday, Gabkwet emphasized that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding Aliyu’s death.

“The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, and indeed the entire NAF family are saddened by the painful and unfortunate incident of the untimely death of one of our students at Air Force Secondary School, Kaduna, on June 19, 2024,” Gabkwet stated.

“To avoid all sorts of speculations, a thorough investigation is currently ongoing to unravel how, why, and what actually led to the death of the victim. Rest assured that this matter is receiving the utmost urgency it deserves, and we won’t rest until it is unravelled,” the statement concluded.
