AFCON 2025: Morocco Uses Advanced Video Analysis to Prepare for Super Eagles
Morocco have intensified preparations for their AFCON 2025 semi-final against Nigeria by using advanced video analysis technology to study the Super Eagles.
Reports from Moroccan newspaper AlMountakhab indicate that head coach Walid Regragui and his technical crew are conducting detailed match reviews at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé. The sessions focus on Nigeria’s tactical approach, player movements, and game patterns observed throughout the tournament.
Morocco will take on Nigeria on Wednesday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, with a place in the final at stake.
Nigeria secured their semi-final spot with a 2–0 victory over Algeria, with goals from Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams. That result marked Nigeria’s second win against North African opposition in the competition.
Morocco also advanced after a 2–0 win over Cameroon in the quarter-finals.
Regragui, alongside assistants Rachid Benmahmoud and Bouhazama, is receiving comprehensive tactical reports from the team’s analysts. The objective is to identify Nigeria’s strengths, assess potential weaknesses, and fine-tune Morocco’s match plan.
Morocco have recorded nine goals and four clean sheets at the tournament, reflecting a balanced performance in attack and defence.
Nigeria remain the competition’s most prolific side, having scored 14 goals. The Super Eagles have also kept clean sheets in their last two knockout matches.
Real Madrid forward Brahim Díaz leads the scoring chart with five goals, one ahead of Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen.
