Adeboye Responds to Viral AI-Generated ‘Alhaji’ Image
Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has reacted to a viral AI-generated image that depicted him in Islamic attire. The image, which appeared online in late December, showed Adeboye dressed as an alhaji and seemingly in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, prompting widespread reactions across social media platforms.
Addressing the matter during the first Holy Ghost Night of the year on Saturday, January 4, Pastor Adeboye referred to the image with a smile, saying, “I’m sure many of you saw that picture showing me as an alhaji.” The pastor’s response came amid broader comments about mockery and criticism directed at him and other spiritual figures.
The image was initially shared by an X user, @Sarkideyforyou, alongside the caption, “Pastor Adeboye, may Allah guide you to the right path.” The post gained significant traction, amassing over 3.8 million views, 1,500 reposts, 1,800 comments, and 4,000 likes by December 22, 2024.
While speaking on the growing presence of detractors, Adeboye expressed his confidence that many such individuals would not survive the year, offering his remarks with a calm but firm demeanor.
