“ADC’ll Start Rebuilding Nigeria from Anambra” — David Mark
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared its intention to form the next government in Anambra State, with a broader plan to rebuild Nigeria starting from the state. National Chairman of ADC, David Mark, made this announcement during the flag-off of the party’s governorship campaign in Anambra. Represented by the party’s founder, Okey Ralphs Nwosu, Mark expressed confidence that the party’s candidate, John Nwosu, would win the governorship election scheduled for November 8, 2025.
Mark described ADC as a growing coalition party gaining strength across Nigeria, especially in the North and South, but emphasized that Anambra remains the birthplace of the party. He highlighted the need for leadership with business acumen to transform Anambra, criticizing past administrations for self-serving mediocrity and lack of good governance. Mark said ADC’s symbol, the handshake, represents a commitment to bringing peace back to Anambra, with John Nwosu as the governor who will lead this transformation. He urged the people to take the project seriously, describing it as the starting point for rebuilding not only Anambra but Nigeria as a whole.
John Nwosu, the ADC governorship candidate, told supporters that he is the only credible alternative to the incumbent governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo. Nwosu criticized Soludo’s administration for failing in several key areas, including security, development, respect for the rule of law, and traditional institutions. He described Anambra under Soludo as “badly shattered,” plagued by insecurity, crime, and economic regression. Nwosu condemned the current government’s approach to revenue collection, calling it brutal and harmful to citizens. He insisted that the people of Anambra deserve better governance and urged them to support change, insisting that Soludo’s continued leadership would only prolong the state’s problems.
At the event, the ADC national chairman’s representative also presented party flags to candidates contesting various positions. Among them was Mrs. Justina Azuka, running to fill the seat of her late husband, Barrister Donald Amamgbo, in the Anambra South senatorial by-election, alongside John Nwosu, the governorship candidate.
