ADC State Chairmen Back David Mark, Warn Against Factional Activities

The Forum of State Chairmen of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has reaffirmed its confidence in the national leadership of the party under former Senate President, Senator David Mark. In a statement issued in Lokoja, Kogi State, Forum Chairman and Kogi State ADC Chairman, Kingsley Temitope Ogga, cautioned the public against the activities of the party chairmen in Benue and Nasarawa States, accusing them of falsely claiming to represent the forum’s leadership.

Ogga stressed that the only member elected on the party’s platform, Hon. Leke Abejide, remains indefinitely suspended and holds no authority to speak or act on behalf of the ADC. He reiterated the forum’s support for the new National Working Committee led by Mark, while condemning alleged anti-party activities by the Benue and Nasarawa chairmen, whom he accused of engaging in negative media campaigns against the party’s leadership.

The statement also accused Abejide of working against the ADC’s interests by attempting to align the party with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. Ogga explained that Abejide’s suspension followed a pattern of anti-party activities since 2023, including attempts to bypass national and state structures in convening meetings without proper authorization. He affirmed that the suspension remains in force until the party decides otherwise.
