2027: “I Know Tinubu’s Strengths and Weaknesses — I Can Beat Him” — Amaechi

Former Minister of Transportation Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has declared that he can defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election if he secures the ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Speaking on Saturday during a live conversation on X Spaces, Amaechi said he knows Tinubu’s strengths and weaknesses and is confident of victory if given the opportunity. He stressed that he has never taken part in election rigging, claiming he has repeatedly declined appointments to serve on the All Progressives Congress (APC) election planning committees.

The former governor of Rivers State admitted that Labour Party candidate Peter Obi won in Rivers during the 2023 elections but claimed he did not know how the official results turned out differently.

Earlier in July, Amaechi had said he would be willing to serve only one term as president if he secures the ADC ticket, citing the need to maintain Nigeria’s rotational power arrangement of eight years for the South and eight years for the North.
