Abuja Mall shut indefinitely after Naira Marley Concert
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has sealed Jabi Lake Mall for violating the ban on Public gathering after hosting a Naira Marley Concert.
The FCTA announced it’s decision stating that “The FCT Ministerial Taskforce Team on Covid19 seals up Jabi Lake Mall indefinitely for violating directives on the ban public gatherings as part of measures to contain the spread of the Corona virus.”
It had been reported that hip-hop artiste Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley and reality show star Kim Oprah had incited a public outcry after violating the ban on interstate travel and Public gatherings with the hosting of a fully packed show in Abuja.
The show put together by Play Network Africa, Traffic Bar, El’Carnival and sponsored by Glenfiddich was planned as a drive-in concert, but it did not conform with the planned arrangement.
The mall has been shut indefinitely following the judgement of a mobile court sitting in Jabi Abuja.
There have been lots of criticisms and outrage on social media, with huge ‘knocks’ on Naira Marley, Kim Oprah, the organisers and sponsors of the event, this followed pictures and videos of the concert that went viral.
