Abia State Father in Agony as Tricycle Operator Absconds with His Four School-bound Kids

In a heart-wrenching incident reported on November 27, Mr. Chimaobi Agah, a middle-aged man from Amasiri, Ebonyi State, has issued a desperate plea for help after a tricycle operator disappeared with his four children on their way to school.

The children, aged eight, one, four, and a year and a half, were entrusted to the tricycle driver by Mr. Agah’s wife, who had prepared them for school while he was away in Enugu State. The family resides near the State Criminal Investigative Department (CID) station in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State, while the children’s school is located in Nkwoegwu community on the outskirts of the city.

In a viral video, Mr. Agah, devastated and visibly distressed, shared his ordeal. He revealed that despite reporting the matter to the police and the State Broadcasting Corporation, there has been no progress in locating his missing children.

He recounted, “I went to work in Enugu on Monday, and my wife paid a tricycle driver to take our four children to school. In the afternoon, when school was supposed to dismiss, they did not return. My wife went to their school, only to be told by the authorities that the children never arrived.”

Having sought assistance from the police and the media, Mr. Agah urged the public for help, stating, “Please, I need my four children rescued.”

As the search intensifies, concerns over the safety of the children grow. Kidnapping incidents persist in the state, reflecting the challenges faced by security agencies despite their efforts. The Police Public Relations Officer, Moureen Chinaka, expressed unawareness of the incident when contacted, promising to provide details after making inquiries. Attempts to reach Mr. Agah were unsuccessful, as his phone was reportedly switched off. The community now awaits updates on the distressing situation, hoping for a swift and positive resolution.
