Abducted Kogi LG Chairman Escapes from Kidnappers; Aides Remain in Captivity
Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael, the Caretaker Chairman of Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area in Kogi State, has managed to escape from his abductors. Michael was kidnapped along with several aides on Friday evening by armed men at a security building he had initiated near Kogi State University in Kabba.
Kogi State Police Command spokesperson, Williams Ovye Aya, confirmed Michael’s escape early Saturday morning, attributing it to divine intervention. “It is indeed the work of God that the chairman managed to escape his captors. We are grateful he has returned to his family safe and sound,” Aya stated.
Despite Michael’s escape, his aides remain in captivity. The Police Command has initiated a manhunt for the kidnappers and is actively working to rescue the remaining victims.
