“A Jobless Person in Many Oyibo Countries Makes More Than a Lecturer in Nigeria” – Catholic Priest
Rev. Fr. Angelo Chidi Unegbu has claimed that unemployed individuals in several foreign countries earn more than university lecturers in Nigeria, highlighting what he describes as the dire state of the nation’s socio-economic system.
The Catholic priest made the statement in a Facebook post on Monday, where he advocated for a return to regional governance or peaceful separation as a remedy for the country’s challenges.
“Do you know that a jobless person in many Oyibo countries makes more money than a lecturer in Nigeria? Yes. That is how bad our situation has become,” Fr. Unegbu wrote.
He attributed the issue to Nigeria’s political structure, adding, “The real cause is our political structure. Solution: regional or self-government or peaceful division. The earlier the better.”
