86-Year-Old Woman Set Ablaze by Daughter Over Witchcraft Allegation Dies
The 86-year-old woman, Iya Biodun, who was set ablaze by her daughter over allegations of witchcraft, has died at the Ondo Trauma Centre.
Iya Biodun sustained severe burns after her daughter, Abiodun, poured petrol on her and set her on fire. The tragic incident occurred after Abiodun claimed a pastor informed her that her mother was responsible for her misfortunes.
“I called my mother out of the house around 5 a.m. and set her ablaze because of what I heard, that she’s behind my problems,” Abiodun confessed.
Ondo State Police spokesman, Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident and stated that Abiodun would soon be charged to court.
