The suspended Chairman of Ijebu-East Local Government Area, Wale Adedayo, currently finds himself in the custody of the Department of State Security (DSS) in Abeokuta. This development follows allegations swirling around Governor Dapo Abiodun regarding the alleged misappropriation of funds intended for the state’s local governments.
Adedayo himself confirmed his presence at the DSS office in Oke-Mosan to the press earlier today. He willingly appeared before the security agency in response to their summons.
One of Adedayo’s aides, who requested anonymity for security reasons, provided an update to journalists, revealing that the chairman remained in the custody of the DSS as late as 9 PM. The aide had accompanied Adedayo to the DSS office earlier in the day but reported that the chairman had not been released by the security agency.
The reasons behind Adedayo’s continued detention by the DSS are still unclear at this time. Our correspondent is diligently investigating the matter to bring you the latest updates as they unfold. Stay tuned for more on this developing story.
