25-Year-Old Arrested for Stabbing Father to Death in Lagos
The Lagos State Police Command is investigating a tragic incident involving a 25-year-old man, Chibunna Chiemelie, who has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his father to death at their home on Oba Kabiru Street in Isolo, Lagos.
The arrest followed a report from a neighbor of the victim, who contacted the police after hearing of the violent altercation.
According to police spokesperson SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the incident occurred on the evening of October 3, 2024, around 9:30 PM. The complainant received a call from the neighbor indicating that Mr. Chiemelie, 68, was in a confrontation with his son. Upon arrival at the residence, the complainant discovered his father’s lifeless body in a pool of blood, prompting him to alert the authorities.
Police officers quickly arrived at the scene, where they found a blood-stained knife near the deceased. The victim’s body was subsequently transported to the General Hospital in Isolo, where he was pronounced dead.
During police questioning, Chibunna Chiemelie confessed to the crime. The investigation is ongoing, and the victim’s body has been placed in the mortuary at the General Hospital.
