15 Adamawa Lawmakers Quit PDP, Speaker Leads Resignation

Fifteen members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, including Speaker Bathiya Wesley, have resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The announcement was made by Wesley on the floor of the Assembly, signaling a major shift in the state’s political landscape.

Details on the future political alignment of the departing lawmakers remain unclear, though reports suggest they may join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri is also reportedly considering leaving the PDP, adding to speculation about broader realignments in the state.

The Adamawa House of Assembly comprises 25 members currently distributed across the PDP, APC, and Labour Party.
