14-Year-Old British-Nigerian Boy Shot Dead in London; Three Arrested
A 14-year-old British-Nigerian boy, Eghosa Ogbebor, has been killed in a shooting in the Woolwich area of London, prompting the arrest of three suspects.
The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to reports of a shooting at about 15:40 on Thursday, 2 April, on Lord Warwick Street. Emergency responders attended the scene, but the teenager was pronounced dead despite efforts by paramedics.
Although formal identification is yet to be completed, police have named the victim as Eghosa Ogbebor. His family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers.
Authorities confirmed that three suspects—a 14-year-old boy, a 16-year-old boy, and an 18-year-old man—have been arrested on suspicion of murder. All three remain in custody while investigations continue.
Detective Inspector Lucie Card, who is leading the investigation, appealed to the public for information that could assist the inquiry.
She acknowledged the impact of the incident on the community, noting concerns over the victim’s age, and said police presence in Woolwich has been increased. She urged anyone with relevant information to come forward as officers continue their work.
