12 Abducted in Fresh Attack on Southern Kaduna

Twelve individuals, including the community leader of Unguwan Babangida in Kauru Emirate, Mallam Babangida Sogiji, have been abducted in two separate attacks on the Libere and Unguwan Babangida communities in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Aminu Khalid, the youth leader of Dokan Karji community, confirmed that four people were kidnapped on Thursday while harvesting crops on their farms. The victims, identified as Pheobe Adauji, Cecilia Moses, Tambaya, and Tambaya’s wife, were taken around noon.

The attackers struck again on Friday morning, this time targeting Unguwan Babangida, where six more residents, including Mallam Sogiji, were abducted. Among the victims were two seasonal workers from Jigawa State who had traveled to the area for agricultural work.

Efforts to obtain comments from the Kaduna State Police spokesman, Mansir Hassan, were unsuccessful at the time of reporting, as he did not respond to calls.
