“You’ve Failed Anambra and Now Hide Behind Zoning” — Moghalu Slams Soludo
Labour Party governorship candidate Dr. George Moghalu has launched a blistering attack on Governor Charles Soludo, accusing him of hiding behind the zoning debate to distract from a lackluster performance in office. In a strongly worded statement released by his campaign and signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Onyebuchi Okoye, Moghalu said the governor has failed the people of Anambra and is now using zoning as a political shield.
“Governor Soludo contested in 2003 under PDP and again in 2013 under APGA without ever mentioning zoning. It only became relevant to him now that his record is under fire,” the statement said. “You’ve failed Anambra and now hide behind zoning — but Ndi Anambra are watching, and they are wiser now.”
The Moghalu campaign argued that while zoning supports Anambra South completing its turn, it should not be weaponized to protect non-performance. It insisted that leadership must be based on competence, not entitlement.
The statement questioned the governor’s much-publicized “African Dubai-Taiwan” vision, asking what had become of the promised transformation. “Where are the schools, the hospitals, the roads? Are our markets safer? Are traders less burdened?” it asked, accusing the administration of overseeing a regime of daily harassment of market traders by revenue agents.
Moghalu, who has pledged to serve only a single four-year term, said his leadership would be grounded in results and accountability, not slogans or recycled promises. He pointed to the Labour Party’s growing strength in the region, citing figures like Peter Obi and Abia State Governor Alex Otti as models of the governance he intends to bring to Anambra.
“This election is not about grammar or slogans,” the campaign concluded. “It’s about performance, vision, and integrity — and in 2025, Ndi Anambra will choose progress, not excuses.”
