“Your Mother Is a Whøre”: Bauchi Governor’s Son Unleashes Vile Tirade Against Critic on Twitter, Sparks Outrage

Shamsuddeen Bala Mohammed, son of Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, has drawn widespread condemnation after unleashing a torrent of offensive language on Twitter in response to criticism over alleged corruption and abuse of power. Using his verified handle @shamsudeen_bala, Shamsuddeen directed crude and derogatory insults at a user identified as Malaika, who had accused him of leveraging his father’s position for personal gain.

“Are you sick in the head?!… If that’s the case, I allege your mother is a whore and you are a bastard child, and that also makes it true,” Shamsuddeen tweeted, sparking public outrage. The user’s original comment had questioned Shamsuddeen’s reported “lust for power” and involvement in questionable dealings, provoking the outburst that has since gone viral across social media platforms.

Shamsuddeen’s combative behavior has a history of attracting criticism, both in the media and within political circles. Reports indicate that his conduct has strained relationships even within his own family. A recent controversy involved the arrest of Dr. Abubakar Ahmad, a university lecturer who posted a video showing Shamsuddeen dancing with his wife—an incident that allegedly spiraled into a broader scandal involving land grabs, contract irregularities, and misuse of influence by Shamsuddeen and the First Lady. The allegations were amplified by activist Omoyele Sowore, intensifying scrutiny on the governor’s household.

Sources close to the family claim Governor Bala Mohammed has repeatedly cautioned his son about his behavior. “I have repeatedly warned you to stop being childish in your public conduct, but you don’t hear words,” he was reportedly overheard telling Shamsuddeen.

The incident has provoked a strong backlash from members of the governor’s extended family. Mutawakkil Adamu Mohammed, a relative, lamented, “Shamsu has scandalised our entire family,” reflecting growing discontent over his public conduct and its impact on the family’s reputation.
