Woman, 41, Found Dead in Suspected Suicide at MFM Prayer City
A 41-year-old woman, Benita Lurk Ikuenobe, was found dead in a suspected case of suicide at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) Prayer City, located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The incident reportedly occurred on the morning of Friday, July 18, and was brought to attention by the church’s Chief Security Officer, Esiere Ekikere.
Security expert Zagazola Makama shared the report on Sunday, confirming that Ekikere received a distress call around 7:20 a.m. about an unresponsive woman lying on the floor inside the church auditorium. On arrival, Ekikere found Ikuenobe motionless with an empty bottle of a suspected poisonous substance—believed to be a commonly available pesticide—beside her.
Police officers later arrived at the scene, took photographs for documentation, and transferred the body to the Real Divine Hospital morgue for autopsy. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
