Young Man Dies After Girlfriend Stabs Him Over Infidelity Dispute

A young man identified as Michael Ikuedowoni, 25, has died after being stabbed by his girlfriend, Augustina Mowari, in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State. The incident reportedly occurred over the weekend following a heated argument between the couple over suspected infidelity.

According to sources familiar with the situation, Michael and Augustina, who lived together in a single-room apartment, had a history of frequent disputes, mostly revolving around trust issues and alleged cheating. One source, who requested anonymity, revealed that the altercation turned violent after Augustina accused Michael of being unfaithful. During the fight, she allegedly stabbed him in the leg with a pair of scissors.

Michael was initially taken to a nearby hospital, treated, and discharged with medication. However, his condition reportedly worsened later that night as his leg became swollen. He was rushed back to the hospital on Sunday night, but despite efforts by medical personnel, he was pronounced dead.

The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the incident. Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, stated that the suspect is currently in custody. He added that the case will be charged to court following the conclusion of investigations.
