Woman Pours Acid on Boyfriend After Breakup
Mavis Nkrumah, a 30-year-old woman, has been arrested by the Greater Accra Regional Police Command for allegedly pouring acid on her ex-boyfriend, 29-year-old taxi driver Gideon Frimpong, during a confrontation related to their recent breakup.
According to police reports, the incident occurred during a meeting between the two, intended to address unresolved issues following the end of their relationship. The conversation reportedly turned into a heated argument, culminating in Ms. Nkrumah attacking Mr. Frimpong with a corrosive substance believed to be acid.
Mr. Frimpong sustained serious injuries and was immediately rushed to a nearby medical facility, where he is currently receiving treatment. Medical professionals have confirmed that he is in stable condition but will need continued care due to the severity of the burns.
Ms. Nkrumah attempted to flee the scene after the attack but was later apprehended by the police. She is currently in custody as authorities continue their investigations into the matter.
