Police Raid Enugu Church, Recover Human Skull and Ritual Items Linked to Murder Investigation

On Saturday, May 7, 2025, the Enugu State Police Command conducted a raid on an unfinished church building in Abile Hill, Isi-Agu, Ibagwa-Aka, uncovering a suspected ritual site connected to Prophet Chinedu Ezedike. The cleric is allegedly involved in the murder of four siblings in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area.

The operation was led by the Divisional Police Officer of Igbo-Eze South, with support from various security agencies. During the raid, officers recovered a human skull and a ritual staff from the building, known as the “Synagogue,” owned by Prophet Ezedike.

This discovery follows public outrage over the recent killings, which prompted the state government to demolish the primary crime scene. The church is one of several properties currently under investigation in connection with the case.

Barrister Ferdinand Ukwueze, Chairman of Igbo-Eze South LGA, who participated in the raid, confirmed the findings in a Facebook post on Monday. He stated, “Two days ago, while combing locations suspected to be camps for criminal activities, we visited the site at Abile Hill. To our dismay, a human skull and ritual staff were found at the so-called synagogue under construction by Prophet Chinedu Ezedike.”

The recovered items have been handed over to the police for further investigation. Ukwueze emphasized that the discovery strengthens the allegations against Ezedike and pledged to continue efforts to eliminate criminal enclaves to ensure community safety.

He also praised the coordinated collaboration between the Nigeria Police, Department of State Services (DSS), the military, local Neighbourhood Watch groups, Forest Guards, and vigilant citizens.

“Under the administration of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, there will be no hiding place for criminals. We are committed to building a just society where citizens can live free from violence and intimidation,” Ukwueze added.
