Woman Collapses, Dies While Giving Testimony in Lagos Church
A 55-year-old woman identified only as Ifeoma collapsed and died while sharing a testimony during a church service at the Ministry Church in the Ejigbo area of Lagos State.
The incident took place during Sunday service on September 8, 2024, around 8:48 am. Ifeoma was in the middle of singing songs of gratitude before giving her testimony when she suddenly slumped in front of the congregation.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, confirmed the event on Wednesday. According to Hundeyin, Ifeoma was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. However, she was referred to the General Hospital in Isolo, where she was pronounced dead.
A church official reported the matter to the police. Hundeyin explained, “The Zonal accountant of the church in Ejigbo came to the station and reported that during testimony hour, Ifeoma collapsed and was taken to a hospital. Unfortunately, she was later confirmed dead.”
The police, accompanied by the complainant, visited the hospital, where they learned that Ifeoma’s family had taken her body to Anambra State for burial.
