Wike Lambasts Governor Fubara, Rivers State PDP Leaders as “Transactional Politicians” and “Political Vampires”

In a fiery verbal assault, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has launched scathing criticism against Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, branding him as “a boy” being propped up by leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Wike did not mince his words, describing the Rivers State PDP leaders supporting Fubara as “transactional politicians, political vampires, and political buccaneers.”

The former Rivers State Governor took direct aim at the PDP leaders for rallying behind Fubara, questioning their integrity and dismissing them as unworthy of the title of elder statesmen.

Among the PDP leaders declaring support for Governor Fubara were Abiye Sekibo, Uche Secondus, Celestine Omehia, and Austin Opara. However, Wike countered their endorsement by asserting that they lacked the credibility to be considered elder statesmen, emphasizing that Secondus’ suspension from the party was upheld by the court.

In response to the PDP leaders’ call for President Bola Tinubu to rein him in, Wike vehemently rejected their authority, labeling them as expired politicians and asserting his dominance within the party.

During a media interaction, Wike pointedly challenged the notion of these individuals being elder statesmen, emphasizing the importance of integrity and consistency in such a role. He condemned their sudden support for Fubara, highlighting their previous criticisms of the governor.

Wike derided the PDP leaders for their past opposition to Fubara, questioning their motives for now backing him. He criticized their track record in governance and accused them of selfishness, particularly in their failure to adequately serve the people during their time in power.

Furthermore, Wike clarified that his political differences with former Governor Peter Odili have strained their relationship, questioning Odili’s newfound status as a revered leader among the PDP leaders in Rivers State.
