Wike: Goodluck Jonathan, Wife Did Not Make Me Politically
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has stated that while former First Lady Patience Jonathan supported his political career, neither she nor her husband, former President Goodluck Jonathan, were responsible for his rise in politics.
Wike made this assertion during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Tuesday.
Reflecting on his relationship with the former first family, Wike acknowledged Patience Jonathan’s support but emphasized his political achievements were his own. He expressed gratitude to former President Jonathan for appointing him as the Minister of State for Education from July 2011 to April 2014.
“It would be unfair before the Almighty God to say that Patience Jonathan never supported me, it will be unfair,” Wike said. “I don’t have the blood to say somebody who supported me did not, no, I would not.”
