Wike Confirms Meeting with Tinubu, Fubara, Asks Rivers Assembly to “Do the Needful”
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has confirmed a meeting on Monday, February 9, involving himself, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, and President Bola Tinubu.
Wike stated that the meeting was initiated by the President to address the ongoing dispute between the Governor and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly. He described the intervention as an effort to restore stability and expressed hope that it would mark the final presidential involvement in the matter.
“I have told the assembly to do the needful and obey Mr. President, which I am confident they will. I also believe the governor will fulfill his part to ensure this is the last time such a discord is reported in Rivers State,” Wike said during an inspection tour of ongoing projects in Abuja.
The development follows reports that Wike and Fubara traveled to his Abuja lodge after their meeting at the Presidential Villa.
