Wife Allegedly Hires Hitmen to Kill Husband Following Dispute
A 35-year-old woman, Jumoke Ayoola, appeared in an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Friday, accused of threatening to kill her husband, Jide Ayoola.
Mrs. Ayoola, whose address remains undisclosed, faces charges of making a threat to kill, to which she pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutor Inspector Akeem Akinloye stated that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on July 4 at around 1:00 p.m. in the Oluyole area of Ibadan. According to Mr. Akinloye, Mrs. Ayoola hired hitmen to murder her husband following a misunderstanding between the couple.
The charge brought against her falls under section 86 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Chief Magistrate Olabisi Ogunkanmi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million, requiring two reliable sureties of the same amount. The case has been adjourned until November 6 for a hearing.
