“Why You Shouldn’t Marry a Woman Your Age” – Omokri Tells Men

Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has stirred conversation on social media after advising men against marrying women of the same age or just slightly younger. In a recent post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Omokri argued that men should consider significant age differences in marriage, citing religious, biological, and sociocultural factors.

Using the biblical story of Adam and Eve as an example, Omokri stated that the first couple were not of the same age bracket, emphasizing what he sees as the importance of traditional gender roles and age dynamics. “God created Adam, and he was already settled in age before Eve was created for him,” he wrote.

Omokri further warned men to look beyond love and emotions when choosing a spouse, suggesting that men’s biological needs last longer than women’s, particularly due to the onset of menopause. He questioned whether men were prepared to become celibate or face health risks like prostate cancer, which he linked to a mismatch in libidos due to close age gaps in marriage.

He recommended an age gap of ten to fifteen years between husbands and wives, claiming that such unions are more beneficial for men’s longevity. “Please fact-check me: Men who marry significantly younger women tend to live longer than males who marry their age mates or a few years younger,” Omokri stated. “But to wed your senior in age is to play Russian Roulette!”

His remarks have drawn mixed reactions online, with some praising his traditionalist perspective and others criticizing it as outdated and sexist.
