Why Anambra Needs Ukachukwu as Governor — By Bonaventure Ejezube
Anambra state is seriously blessed with human and material abilities. Judging from the time I begun casting votes in Nigeria election, I will say that the state has not been too lucky except during the period of Ngige and Peter Obi which changed the story.
Relatively, we enjoyed this stability during Obiano’s tenure, despite his flaws, we witnessed a collective approach to governance despite the meagre resources available to governors then, despite these factors the Obiano administration was able to deliver key signature projects that have aided the development of the state in multiple proportions.
Unfortunately, Obiano’s choice of Soludo returned us back to our regrets. At the other hand, we the citizens were swept off our pedestals deceptively following some show of academic status and positions held in the past. Today, the scales are off our cornea.
The only times Anambra saw massive development was in the last 21 years, Ngige began with infrastructural revolution, Obi expanded on such and Obiano topped the icing by giving us massive signature projects.
It is important to x-ray the Peter Obi era and point out that the landmark achievements were largely due to his exposure to businesses and being able to start, manage and raise a business from the scratch to the peak, he was able to apply this knowledge and skill in managing Anambra state and the result is palpable.
This cannot be the story of an individual like Chukwuma Soludo “Onu Atu Egwu” who has never built any business in his name. Someone who has been a salary earner throughout his life and who does not live and know the terrain of the state he governs .
On the contrary, the person of Prince Dr Nicholas Ukachukwu who we know is an extremely successful business man who has also built wealth from the little capital he received.
Anambra being a state known with business and other related enterprise, requires such a personality to *steer her progress*. Not some sort of high falutin speaking academicians who love the sound of their voices while criminals and non state actors terrorise the state.
A man as Soludo who hasnt managed people from his own initiative can not then show or express empathy with the market woman at Nkwo Abba or with the struggling business man at Main Market Onitsha. How can he when he has no business establishment or even ideas?
Prince Dr. Ukachukwu (MFR) I know will douse insecurity in the shortest phase of his becoming Governor of Anambra state., he will because as a prominent investor in the state, he knows that a trickle of insecurity in Ihiala will resonate negatively im Ogbaru, affecting commerce and the delivery of services to the people of Anambra.
A vote for Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu is a vote for security, it is a vote for enhanced commerce and a vote to again put Anambra in the spotlight as Nigeria’s most progressive state!
