What I Told Fubara When We Met – Wike
Former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has disclosed details of a recent meeting with the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara. Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Monday, Wike said Fubara visited him alongside two governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC). While Wike declined to share all the specifics of their conversation, he stated that he candidly told Fubara he lacked the capacity to broker peace in the state.
“I told him I don’t think you really have the capacity to make this peace,” Wike revealed during the media chat. He criticized Fubara for seeking reconciliation while, according to him, Fubara’s aides were actively appearing on television to hurl insults at others. Wike added that achieving peace would require more than just meeting him—it would involve engaging other critical stakeholders, including the State Assembly, the party, and other influential figures in the state.
