“We’ve Been Vindicated” – Rivers APC on Tinubu’s Position on Wike, Fubara

The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has welcomed the Presidency’s clarification on the ongoing dispute between FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

On Thursday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, through his Special Adviser on Policy and Communication, Daniel Bwala, affirmed that Governor Fubara is the recognized leader of the APC in Rivers State. Bwala stressed that Fubara should be allowed to perform his duties without interference, while acknowledging Wike’s contributions to the Tinubu administration, noting that he is not a member of the APC.

In response, Rivers APC, through Publicity Secretary Darlington Nwauju, described the President’s statement as a vindication of the party’s stance. The statement emphasized alignment with national leadership policies under Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda and Senator (Dr) Ajibola Basiru and criticized internal critics, including National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, for undermining party principles.

The party called for immediate party congresses at all levels to unify leadership and urged Governor Fubara to convene a stakeholders’ meeting to set the party’s direction, reinforcing his authority as Rivers APC leader.
